The Create Event automation allows you to automatically create calendar events and activities when specific events occur in your CRM.
This helps your sales team stay organized, standardize follow-up processes, and ensure that every opportunity receives timely attention.
Typical follow-up scenarios include:
- Scheduling a follow-up call after a deal reaches a specific pipeline stage.
- Creating an introductory call when a new contact is added.
- Scheduling a reminder after a deal is won.
- Creating activities based on customer profile information.
How it works
The Create Event automation is triggered when one of the following events occurs:
- Deal is created
- Person is created
- Deal Stage changes
- Deal is updated
- Person is updated
You can also define one or more conditions using any available customer field to determine when the automation should run.
Example 1 – Follow up after a proposal is sent
Automatically schedule a follow-up call when a deal reaches the Proposal Sent stage.
Trigger
Deal Stage changes
Condition
Pipeline stage = Proposal Sent
Action
Create Event
The event is automatically assigned to the deal owner and scheduled according to the configured event date.
Example 2 – Welcome call for new contacts
Create an introductory call whenever a new contact is added to the CRM.
Trigger
Person is created
Action
Create Event
The activity can be assigned to a specific user or distributed randomly among users or team members.
Example 3 – Follow up after a won deal
When a deal status changes to Won, automatically schedule a follow-up call with the customer.
This can be used to:
- Collect customer feedback.
- Discuss onboarding.
- Plan the next commercial opportunity.
- Schedule renewal reminders for recurring business.
Using Conditions
Conditions allow you to create different follow-up activities based on customer information.
For example, you can create different events depending on:
- Lead source
- Country or region
- Customer type
- Deal owner
- Any custom field
This enables different follow-up processes without creating duplicate automations.
Notes
- Events created from deals are automatically assigned to the deal owner.
- Events created from persons can be assigned to a specific user or randomly distributed across the organization or a selected team.
- Remember to activate the automation after saving it.
