Onpipeline manages relationships between people, organizations, and deals in two distinct ways.
Person and Organization Relationship
People can be associated with organizations.
- An organization can have multiple people associated with it.
- A person can be associated with only one organization at a time.
- The organization linked to a person represents their primary company or affiliation.
This relationship can be created or updated from different areas of the platform using the contact search feature.
Changing a person’s organization does not automatically change the organization associated with their existing deals.
Contact and Deal Relationships
A deal can be associated with:
- a person;
- an organization;
- both a person and an organization;
- neither, when the deal does not yet require a specific contact.
Deal associations are independent of the relationship between a person and their primary organization.
For example, a person may be associated with Organization A while participating in a deal linked to Organization B. This may happen when the person is acting as a consultant, partner, intermediary, or representative of another company.
When managing a deal, select the person and organization that are directly involved in that specific opportunity.
Deal associations can be created or updated from different areas of the platform through a fast and simplified search.
